About the project
On the island of Santorini, the construction of a tourist complex of rental houses was a major challenge for the company, as it provided an opportunity to showcase its capabilities and successfully meet the requirements and particularities of Cycladic architecture and the island’s natural landscape.
The implementation of the project proved that KALLERGIS, with its know-how and experience, can successfully undertake any project, offering flexibility in both design and construction.
This project—the rental housing complex—was implemented and delivered by KALLERGIS under the ESPA – Tourism program, with the design study carried out by an external consultant partner of the company.
It is a two-storey prefabricated building consisting of four (4) apartments, an accessible (PWD) room, and a reception area.
Results
The complex was constructed using the method of prefabricated transportable wall panels, which were connected to each other through in-situ concreting on site.
The completion and finalization of the works were carried out on site, by the company’s crews.
The tourist complex was harmoniously integrated into the island’s built environment and maintained the traditional Cycladic style, which was from the outset the central idea and goal of the company—so that prefabrication, as a construction method for the complex, would become a natural continuation of the Cycladic settlement.
