About the project
On the island of Kos, within the grounds of one of the island’s largest tourist resorts—recently renovated—a prefabricated church dedicated to Saint Kyriaki was installed.
The church was designed and built in complete architectural and aesthetic harmony with both the natural landscape and the architecture of the hotel complex. It is made of reinforced concrete using the MONOBLOCK method, with an external thermal insulation system (thermal façade). Internally, the main space of the church is separated from the sanctuary area by an iconostasis (templon) made of reinforced concrete. The iconostasis includes the Royal Door (Holy Doors) and two additional doors for the needs of the Divine Liturgy.
Both the dome and the bell tower are constructed from reinforced concrete, cast in special molds, forming a solid and structurally unified construction.
Results
The church was delivered with a complete electrical installation (conduits, wiring, sockets/switches, main electrical panel), floor tiles selected by the donors from a variety of designs offered by the company, solid iron doors and windows with colored glass, and interior/exterior painting.
In terms of the church’s dimensions, there is flexibility: size adjustments and design customization are possible.
